Our Mission:

Interfaith Health & Support Services (IHSS) is a coalition of faith communities, social service, and health care organizations that provides support to those living at home who are vulnerable because of age or disability.  

Our dedicated staff and volunteers seek to put God's love into action by promoting wellness and independence and alleviating loneliness for the members of our community in need.  

OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:

• Transportation to medical appointments

• Grocery shopping and/or food pantry delivery

• Transportation to Community Lunch Programs at Saint Mary's, and/or Ocean County Libraries.

• Respite & support for the caregiver of a loved one with Dementia or Alzheimer's

• Friendly visits

• Pet Therapy 

• In-Home hair cutting

• Reassurance phone calls  

All services are provided free of charge

IHSS volunteers attend an orientation class and undergo a criminal background check before they are assigned to provide services. 

We currently have 200 volunteers helping over 750 senior citizens in Southern Ocean County to remain independent in their own homes.  

We are funded through grants and donations from the families we assist and our generous community.
